Where do you get started with SEO? You get started with the technical. Google and other search engines are looking to serve up quality sites so you need to make sure that you have addressed the details – the things the search engines want to see. So, what is SEO technical? Technical SEO refers to things on the back end that most people can’t see. It includes security (SSL certificates), site speed, clean code, and so much more.
Getting Started with Technical SEO – SEO Site Checkup
Most website owners don’t know where to begin on getting their sites technically in order. Well, we have found a great site that we use to keep our site and our customer sites SEO friendly. SEO Site Checkup provides a full analysis of your site and gives you a score letting you know how you stack up against the latest search engine demands. You can get a few free reports per day but the best thing to do is to sign up and get an account. With the paid account, you can also add links to your competitors to see their scores (limit 3).

We can help! We have an account with SEO Site Checkup so you don’t need to get one. We’ll work on getting you a score in the 90’s and monitor your site moving forward. We want to be part of your team and part of your success.
What happens after you get a great SEO score?
Now it’s time to give your internal pages some TLC. Get your title tags, description, H1 tags and content in order. Content is KING! Search engines are looking for high quality content and you must deliver this content if you want to improve your search engine rankings. But how do you know that your efforts are paying off?
Google Analytics
If you followed the SEO Site Checkup recommendations, then you installed Google Analytics and you are now tracking traffic on your site. Increased organic traffic to your site is an indicator of how well your site is performing on search engine searches but you can do more.
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools

If you really want to see how well your site is performing with search engines, you’ll need to set up Google Search Console (GSC) and Bing Webmaster Tools (BWT). The best way to do this is to set up GSC first then import your account into BWT. Here you can learn about the number of clicks coming from searches, the number of impressions, your click through ratio (CTR) and your average search position. Here again, we can help. There is a lot to navigate and there is a learning curve so reach out to us to save time.
This Is Just The Beginning
If you have dialed in your technical SEO, worked on improving your internal page tags and content, and are set up with your tools to monitor your results, you have only just begun.
